The Journey of Elpidio Quirino

 

Elpidio Quirino, born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan City. His parent were Don Mariano Quirino and Dona Gregoria Mendoza Rivera Quirino. He was the 6th president of the Republic of the Philippines (1948–1953). During high school, he studied at Manila High School and passed the civil exam. He took a law school from the University of the Philippines and graduated with a degree. After becoming a successful Filipino lawyer, he entered politics.

Quirino's career as a politician started when he was elected as a member in the House of Representatives in 1919. And a senator in 1925. During the presidential election in April 1946, he was elected as the vice president. After the sudden death of Manuel Roxas, he was declared as the new president of the Philippines. Quirino played a significant role during his term, and this includes the recovery of the country after the World War II, which left our fellow Filipino's devastated. 

Elpidio Quirino was one of the most notable president in the Philippines, and it's all because of his great leadership and dedication to serve for  many Filipino's. He worked hard to improve our country and helped in growing our economy. Quirino, being our president will always remain as a special part in our history. He didn't give up, but instead, he did his best to rebuild our land, the Philippines.
