Festival is annualy celebrated to showcase province's rich culture and heritage. Held in Vigan City, the capital of Ilocos Sur, the festival features traditional exhibits "ONE TOWN, ONE PRODUCT" in Trade Fair, wherein the 32 municipalities share their distinct products. This initiatives highlights diversity and creativity of each town, from agricultural products to handcrafted products which truly offers the true taste of Ilocos Sur's craftmanship.

 

Apart from its diverse products, one of the most awaited part of the grand celebrations is the Street Dancing and Showdown Competition. Dressed in vibrant and traditional costumes, dancers move to the rhythms of the festival's theme music. Every group tells a story of their town's history, folklore, and way of life. This competitions creates large crowds from border to border, showing their pride and support to their towns.

In addition, visitor also enjoys variety of exciting activities such as local food fairs, competitions, beauty pageants like Miss Ilocos Sur, Mr. Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Sur Pride Queen. The festival also includes religious processions, honoring Ilocanoes deep connection to its spiritual roots. This proves that Kannawidan Festival not only provides entertainment but also promotes sense of pride among the people of Ilocos Sur that allows the to celebrate their beautiful heritage while looking forward to what the future holds.
